Listing agent Daria Saraf, of Sotheby’s International Realty—San Francisco Brokerage, shares that the home was originally built for a sea captain and his family. Jenkins purchased the property in November 2013 for $2.35 million.

Victorian details

This circa-1880 residence in the City by the Bay is teeming with character. Just beyond the glass-paned front door is a foyer, which leads to a statement staircase. The layout flows seamlessly into multiple sitting areas, one with an oversized window and another with a mirrored fireplace.

A gourmet kitchen features high-end appliances and accents, while an adjacent dining room is adorned with an eye-catching tin ceiling, an exquisite chandelier, and wainscoting.

“Almost all the Victorian detail is either intact or has been restored or recreated,” explains Saraf.

She also notes that Jenkins added a new Bulthaup European kitchen with retractable doors that lead out to an ipe-wood deck.

San Francisco charm

Even better? The location is unbeatable. It’s close to the restaurants and bars of the Mission.

Dolores Heights—and Liberty Hill, specifically—is the highest price per square foot in S.F., along with Presidio Heights,” explains Saraf. “Many tech moguls and titans of industry live in Dolores Heights. It’s like the Tribeca of New York City.”

This home is also lower on the hill, allowing for a walkout yard.

“The hillside-view homes are always many flights of stairs above their yards,” Saraf adds.

She also notes that the house is detached on three sides, allowing in more light and a “spacious, private feel.”

The house has radiant heat and an attic that can be dormered. There are also three parking spaces and an electric vehicle charger.

Jenkins, 59, founded Third Eye Blind with bandmate Kevin Cadogan in 1993. The band has released seven studio albums and won a Billboard Music Award in 1997 for “Semi-Charmed Life.” They kick off their summer tour in June with the band, Yellowcard.
